Bubba Kush Feminized by Seedsman is a legendary Indica-dominant hybrid (approximately 90% Indica / 10% Sativa) celebrated for its deeply relaxing effects, dense resin-coated flowers, and rich, old-school kush aroma. Created by crossing Pre-'98 Bubba Kush × Pre-'98 Bubba Kush, this classic American cultivar preserves the highly sought-after characteristics of the original Pre-'98 Bubba Kush genetics. Known for its earthy, spicy, and sweet hash-like flavors, Bubba Kush delivers a powerful combination of physical relaxation and calming cerebral effects. Its compact growth structure, impressive resin production, and distinctive purple and dark green coloration make it an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking authentic, traditional Indica genetics.
Cultivation Profile
Bubba Kush is a beginner-friendly to intermediate-level plant to grow, offering a naturally compact, bushy structure that makes it especially suitable for indoor cultivation and smaller growing spaces. Its sturdy branches, broad leaves, and dense flower development reflect its strong Indica heritage. This cultivar performs well indoors, outdoors, and in greenhouses, particularly in warm, dry climates.
Flowering Time: Typically 9 to 10 weeks (60–70 days) when grown indoors as a photoperiod cultivar. Seedsman's detailed strain description specifies approximately 60–65 days, while some catalog listings provide a broader 9–11 week flowering window.
Plant Structure: Tends to grow short to medium in height with a compact, bushy appearance, thick stems, broad Indica-style leaves, and strong secondary branching. Plants produce extremely dense, chunky flowers covered in sticky trichomes. Buds may display deep green, purple, and nearly black coloration depending on phenotype and environmental conditions. Outdoor plants grown directly in the ground can reach approximately 200 cm (6.5 feet).
Yield Potential: Generous yields averaging 450–600 g/m² indoors, with approximately 500 g/m² commonly reported. Outdoor plants can produce 600–800 g per plant under favorable conditions. In the Northern Hemisphere, outdoor harvests generally occur around mid-October.
Odors: Produces a rich, unmistakable combination of earthy kush, sweet hashish, warm spices, herbal notes, and subtle oily undertones. Its aroma becomes increasingly pronounced as the flowers mature, developing the deep, traditional fragrance associated with classic Afghan-influenced Indica cultivars. Carbon filters are recommended for indoor grow tents to manage its distinctive kush aroma.
Flavor & Effects
THC Range: Typically reported between 16% and 24% THC, with Seedsman's earlier strain specifications listing approximately 15–20% THC. CBD content is generally low, typically below 1%. Actual cannabinoid concentrations vary depending on phenotype, growing conditions, and laboratory testing.
Terpenes & Flavor: A classic combination of earthy kush, sweet hashish, peppery spice, herbal richness, and subtle woody undertones. Its flavor profile opens with deep, earthy hash notes followed by warm spices and a lingering, slightly sweet finish. Myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene are commonly associated with this cultivar, although the exact terpene composition varies by phenotype and has not been universally verified through laboratory testing.
The High: Bubba Kush is widely recognized for its powerful, deeply relaxing Indica effects. The experience typically begins with a gentle wave of cerebral euphoria, happiness, and mental calm before gradually transitioning into heavy, full-body relaxation. Its soothing physical effects may become increasingly sedating, often producing the classic couch-lock sensation associated with traditional Indica cultivars. Bubba Kush is particularly popular among enthusiasts seeking a calming evening experience or a way to unwind after a long day. Individual effects vary depending on potency and tolerance.
